Our aim is to provide a safe and enriching environment for your child to grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, and mentally. We do this best by creating opportunities for children to explore their world through “play.” Learning should be experiential and fun. As a Christian preschool, our goal is to teach children about God’s love, and His desire for them to discover their special uniqueness, talents and abilities.
| | Learning highlights. | Calendar Time
Calendar time is an interactive learning opportunity and a daily routine for our classroom that introduces us to concepts such as sequence, pre-math and pre-reading skills as well as days of the week and the months of the year.
•We practice our counting and number recognition as we count up the days that bring us to the current date.
•We also work on patterning as we determine which shape and/or color comes next on the calendar.
•Learning to count the days from left to right introduces a pre-reading skill.
•We begin to memorize the days of the week in order.
•We experience leadership as the children take turns guiding the class through our calendar activities.
Experiencing these concepts daily in a way that is relevant to the children makes learning exciting and motivating |
